Dating app Tinder has gone down, leaving legions of internet singles in despair at being unable to swipe or access their messages.

Changes to Facebook's Application Programming Interface (API) locked Tinder users out of their accounts around the globe before the glitch was fixed.

Tinder - Devotees - Twitter - Anger - Criticism

Furious Tinder devotees took to Twitter to vent their anger, reserving their harshest criticism for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

'Facebook broke Tinder. Man. This generation may never forgive Mark,' wrote one Twitter user.

'I - Messages - Love - Life - Come

'I lost all of my messages,' said another. 'What if I was speaking to the love of my life? Come on.'

'Facebook's API changes just broke Tinder. It throws you into an endless login loop,' said another.
