Damon Lindelof Teams with Blumhouse for Politically Charged Action-Thriller ‘The Hunt’

Damon LIndelof is making a Blumhouse movie! The co-creator of Lost and The Leftovers is teaming with the production company behind last year’s mega-hit (and Oscar-winning) thriller Get Out to craft a thriller of his own, and he’s brought along some friends. THR reports that Lindelof has co-written an action thriller called The Hunt with Nick Cuse, the son of Lost co-showrunner Carlton Cuse. The project has Z for Zachariah and Compliance filmmaker Craig Zobel set to direct, and Blumhouse and Universal Pictures picked it up in a competitive situation.

While the logline is being kept under wraps, the subversive film is said to be inspired by the current political environment in America “with the aggressive nature of right versus the left,” and takes the situation to “a more extreme, and violent, level.” That sounds like it’ll fit right in with the studio that makes The Purge movies.
