3D model platform MyMiniFactory has introduced a feature that allows users to instantly share 3D models to Facebook. Facebook recently incorporated 3D models into its News Feed via a feature called 3D Posts.

MyMiniFactory, a huge 3D model platform containing over 40,000 downloadable objects for 3D printing and other uses, can now prepare to extend its reach further, because the website has integrated a Facebook sharing option which allows users to instantly post their 3D creations to the social media platform.

Facebook, the social media giant spearheaded by 33-year-old entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg, has been mired in controversy lately.

Its role in influencing political elections, including the U.S. presidential election and the United Kingdom’s “Brexit” vote, is currently being investigated by numerous parties, and the extent to which the company harvests and gives out user data is being scrutinized like never before.

Unfortunately for Zuckerberg and co, many users are simply deleting Facebook in the wake of these latest scandals.

Facebook’s recent move to let users share 3D models on their Timelines, however, was arguably one of its better decisions, and one that has vastly improved the social media network’s usefulness for 3D printer users, as well as AR/VR developers, computer game developers, and others with an interest in 3D content.
