An innovative company has invented a new way to enjoy ketchup on the go — by the slice.
Slice of Sauce packages individual slices of ketchup, which retain their square shape and are divided into eight portions that can be layered onto burgers and sandwiches to avoid making messes while eating.

Emily Williams and Thac Lecong started a Kickstarter for the product in March with the goal of $15,000 by April 20. They have already managed to raise hundreds of dollars more than their goal from 180 backers — with a month to spare.

Emily's father owned a restaurant in Michigan, and was famous for his flavorful sauces. That inspired Emily to quit her corporate job and get in to cooking to follow her father's legacy, starting the company Bo's Fine Foods.
She was trying out one of her family recipes for barbecue sauce, which required braising a bunch of different vegetables and then throwing them away after, when she encountered a challenge.

The main base of the BBQ sauce required ketchup, but the Bo's Fine Foods brand is built on creating healthy, high quality products — so they decided to create their own recipe.
Instead of wasting all of the ingredients after braising, they took all the leftover veggies, mixed and ground them together, and then dried them — which led to the accidental end result of Slice of Sauce.
