An Ohio man has been arrested and charged with purchasing a gun for the man who shot and killed two police officers in Ohio this weekend, the Justice Department announced Monday.

Gerald Lawson III of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, was charged with aiding and abetting the possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio said.

Lawson, 30, bought the Glock semi-automatic handgun for Quentin Smith, who is prohibited from possessing a firearm because he is a convicted felon.
