The Danish fighter jets, which were sent as part of as "Quick Reaction Alert", returned to Lithuania upon successful completion of their mission – the first of 2018.

NATO said the Russian jet "did not comply with international standard aviation rules" when flying over the Baltic region on Wednesday morning.
