TSA tightens screening requirements for cargo from seven Middle Eastern airports

The Transportation Security Administration issued stricter screening requirements Monday for cargo loaded onto U.S.-bound flights leaving from seven airports from a handful of Middle Eastern countries due to concerns about terrorism.

TSA Administrator David Pekoske issued an emergency amendment requiring six airlines that fly to the U.S. from seven airports to undergo enhanced screening under the Air Cargo Advance Screening protocols. The countries where the airports are located are Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
