The Rubik's cube is a hardware (also called physical) cube based on the original size 3 cube invented by Erno Rubik in 1974.  This standard sized Rubik’s cube caught on and reached its peak interest in the 1980s.  This was closely followed by the size 4 cube called the Rubik's Revenge cube. Other sizes of the hardware form of the cube come in size 2 also called the Pocket Cube, size 5, or the Professor's Cube, size 6 or the V-Cube 6, and the size 7 Cube 7. Lesser known hardware cubes of larger sizes have also been produced. Currently, the largest hardware cube made is the size 22, and the largest mass-produced is size 13
