In a recent profile celebrating her status as the first woman to run a winning presidential campaign, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway articulated what she told her daughters last year when they asked her why she chose to not vote for the first female presidential nominee in American history, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“I respect very much that Secretary Clinton is running for president, and it shows that in this country, people really can do anything if they set their mind to it,” she said to Time magazine. “At the same time, I try to explain to them that you could be excited for someone with whom you disagree and share in that moment in history as a proud American.”
