Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., and his wife were involved in a car wreck Tuesday as the congressman was returning to Washington, D.C., his office said.
Loudermilk and his wife returned home to Georgia to help with the response to Hurricane Irma, and were returning to Washington early Tuesday morning.

During the trip, the congressman's vehicle flipped several times after they were rear-ended on Interstate 40 near Knoxville, Tenn. Both the congressman and his wife were taken to the hospital and sustained "non-life threatening injuries."
