White House press secretary Sarah Sanders congratulated the "strong" women joining the White House press and communications team on Tuesday.

"Congrats to Hope & @MercedesSchlapp! @POTUS adds more strong women to WH comms/press team cc: @JessicaDitto45 @LWalters45 @KellyannePolls," she tweeted Tuesday night.

Hope - Hicks - Communications - Director - White

Hope Hicks was confirmed as permanent communications director by the White House on Tuesday. Prior to this role, Hicks previously worked as assistant to the president and interim communications director.
