Ah, capitalism. Despite constant criticism from people who have never set foot in a socialist country, the free market allows businesses to compete in ways that end up helping individuals… and sometimes rival companies even manage to have some fun in the process.
That’s exactly what has been happening in Mobile, Alabama over the last few months. Two competing restaurants — Chick-fil-A and Moe’s Original Bar B Que — have been engaged in a good-natured “war” of signage, and even a nearby strip club ended up getting pulled into the fun.
Alcom - Chick-fil-A - Shots - Battle - Back
According to Al.com, Chick-fil-A fired the first shots in the friendly sign battle. Back in July, the well-known chicken restaurant offered a special barbecue sandwich, and advertised the promo on the reader board at a location in Mobile.
The co-owner of the nearby Moe’s Original Bar B Que felt a bit slighted that the chicken chain was infringing on his barbecue monopoly, and he decided to get even.
