Dan Harmon doesn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea about the “Game of Thrones” burn that ran after Sunday’s “Rick and Morty.”
Following the most recent episode of the Adult Swim animated series, eagle-eyed viewers spotted an in memoriam-style onscreen message that read, “The Writing on ‘Game of Thrones’ [2011-2016].” The “Rick and Morty” Twitter account responded on Monday by saying the show’s team had nothing to do with the barb.

Harmon, who co-created “Rick and Morty” with Justin Roiland, took to Instagram on Wednesday to further disavow himself from the insult about the writing on HBO’s “Thrones,” which ended its seventh season on Sunday.
“People keep asking me about that tragically tacky card Adult Swim aired after ‘Rick and Morty’ that insulted the writing on ‘Game of Thrones,'” Harmon wrote.
