Ed Perlmutter considers re-election to Congress after dropping out of Colorado governor's race

Representative Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., is considering a re-election run for his seat, which would represent a turnaround from when he said he'd leave the 7th Congressional District to pursue a bid for governor.

However, that gubernatorial bid was short lived, as Perlmutter quickly dropped out after Rep. Jared Polis, D-Colo., also announced his intentions to be Colorado's next governor. And Polis was bringing his own money to the race, which forced the quick dropout by Perlmutter.

Perlmutter - Re-election - Problems - Democrats - District

If Perlmutter were to run for re-election, it could create problems for Democrats in a district considered to contain important swing demographics. After he announced his gubernatorial bid in April, several other Dems in the district were quick to announce they'd be running to fill Perlmutter's shoes.

Colorado Politics reported several anonymous sources told them about Perlmutter's potential change of heart.
