Thin Chelsea Squad Must Steer Clear Of Injuries, Says Cahill

(Reuters) – Chelsea captain Gary Cahill says keeping players fit will be crucial in the upcoming season with the Premier League club’s first-team squad looking light on numbers compared to rivals.

The match program for Sunday’s Community Shield at Wembley showed Chelsea listing 17 fewer players than opponents Arsenal.

“The back of the program was interesting,” said Cahill.

“In terms of quality we’ve certainly got that and you just have to hope we don’t have too many injuries.”
