Barbara - Home - Rancho - Mirage - Week
Barbara died at her home in Rancho Mirage last week at the age of 90. Her death came 20 years after that of her famous husband Frank.
At her funeral on Tuesday, speakers remembered the couple as charitable and full of life. They eulogized Barbara as a caring and determined campaigner for children.
Speakers - Granddaughter - Carina - Blakeley - Marx
Among the speakers was her granddaughter, Carina Blakeley Marx. Her only son, Robert Oliver, did not give a speech.
'She truly changed the world. She truly cared about everybody here,' Carina said of her late grandmother.
Screen - Actor - Dick - Van - Dyke
Legendary screen actor Dick Van Dyke, 91, however, did. In his opening remarks, he joked: 'A reading from the book of Wisdom, without my glasses.'
Dreesen, 77, also spoke. He said he wished Barbara had lived for 10 more years while Wagner, 87, admitted having a crush on her before she wed Frank.
'I had wished we had become more than friends but that was not meant to be,' he said.
Barbara was Frank Sinatra's fourth and last wife. The pair were together for 22 years - longer than any of his other marriages - before his death in 1998.
