French 3D software company Dassault Systèmes has announced the signing of an extensive new contract with aerospace company Boeing.
The agreement is primarily concerned with Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE software platform and is hoped to provide a digital edge over competitors Airbus.

According to French newspaper Le Figaro, the contract is worth $1 billion over a period of thirty years.
With the software, Boeing will “rely on Winning Program, Co-Design to Target, Ready for Rate, Build to Operate and License to Fly industry solution experiences for aerospace and defense” to improve operations across the company.

The North American aerospace company has certainly been keen to implement digital manufacturing processes and revealed recently that 3D printing has now become a standard for its satellite production processes.
