Barrasso: Obamacare Status Quo 'Will Not Stand'

It is important to keep some of protections, such as for pre-existing conditions, while working to repeal and reform Obamacare, Sen. John Barrasso said Tuesday.

But as the law is now, it will not survive.

"We know the status quo will not stand," the Wyoming Republican told Fox News' "America's Newsroom" program. "A new story out today is that 2 million more young people have gone off insurance, because they cannot afford Obamacare. We want to get rid of the mandate that says they have to buy a government-approved program."

Earlier on the program, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said he remains a "no" vote on the plan, as he believes it carries a "fundamental flaw" of Obamacare, the insurance mandate. If the bill on the table does not shift to be more of a repeal measure, he won't agree to it.
