Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park Leave ‘Hawaii Five-0’ Because Pay Equality Still Doesn’t Exist

After starring in the rebooted TV series since its inception, Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park are leaving “Hawaii Five-0.” The reason is disappointing but not surprising: The two unsuccessfully sought pay equality with Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan, their longtime co-stars; Variety reports that CBS’ final offer to Kim and Park was as much as 10-15% lower than the other two.

“I will never forget meeting Daniel while still writing the pilot and being certain there was no other actor who I’d want to play Chin Ho Kelly,” said Peter Lenkov, one of the show’s executive producers.
