A genius with a 197 IQ may have coded his way into NASA. It’s certainly the first time that a team of Legends find their way into the aerospace and science organization. On tonight’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, the team intercepts the Apollo 13 mission. It’s so that they can retrieve the final piece of the Spear of Destiny.
When I first saw Commander Steel as a NASA flight director, it reminded me of Ed Harris’ character from the movie Apollo 13. Even the haircut looked similar. The part where he punched Rip confused me and amused me at the same time. It’s confusing because they’re both on the same side. It’s hilarious because the commander channeled his inner Indiana Jones. His line about Rip not having the right credentials brings back memories of that scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I applaud you, show.
Things - Turn - Time - Team - Fragment
Things then took an awkward turn when time is running out for the team to retrieve the spear fragment and get out. Professor Stein then belted out “Day–O (The Banana Boat Song)” as a distraction. He even got Mick to join in. Everyone at Mission Control was looking at the professor like he had gone bonkers. I have to commend him, however, for thinking of a suitable distraction.
Meanwhile, Ray crash-lands on the moon (now he knows how Matt Damon felt) along with Eobard Thawne. The latter had disguised himself as Jack Swigert, one of the astronauts. It was interesting to see the two work together after Eobard called a temporary truce. The evil speedster tried to get Ray over to the dark side, but the billionaire scientist did not fall for the Reverse Flash’s trap. Good for you, Dr. Palmer!
