Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson took on conservative radio host Glenn Beck and some uncomfortable topics from the past year during Monday’s debut of the 9 p.m. edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
Carlson wasted no time gauging Beck’s reaction to Trump’s victory after he had publicly supported his opponent, Sen. Ted Cruz, in the primaries, going as far as declaring that the Texas senator was “anointed by God” to be president.

Beck, founder of The Blaze and Mercury Radio, quickly clarified that he had never said Cruz was “anointed.”
“All of us are called by God to do certain things,” Beck said. “Sometimes those things mean just take a stand.”
Undeterred - Carlson - Beck - Beck - Cruz
Undeterred, Carlson told Beck he “remembered it pretty well,” that Beck had been “praying with and for Cruz” and that God was calling the GOP candidate forward to be the nominee.
“My question’s really simple, and I’m not attacking you,” Carlson said, asking Beck if Trump’s eventual win shook his faith. He also pressed Beck about what God’s message could be now that Trump will soon be running the country, adding that Beck had seen the election in “moral terms” from the outset.

“I can’t speak for God,” Beck laughed, adding that “we are living in critical times” and need to “humble ourselves” moving forward in order to unite the country again.
He criticized half of the country that is “freaking out” over Trump’s election victory and noted these same people were “mocking and ridiculing” Republicans when Sen. John McCain lost to President Obama in 2008.
