Meghan Markle breaks her six-week hiatus to thank Grenfell community kitchen

The Duchess of Sussex has interrupted her six-week break from royal duties to pay tribute to the Hubb Community Kitchen.

Meghan's Instagram account, which she shares with her husband Prince Harry, 35, praised the women for their 'leadership and inspiration' in a post this afternoon.

Mother-of-one - London - Centre - Number - Women

The mother-of-one, 38, first visited the west London centre in 2018, when it was set up by a number of local women to provide meals to neighbours affected by the Grenfell fire.

Since then, the duchess has made several other private trips to the kitchen and helped them produce a cookbook, which has raised over £500,000 for the charity.

Today's post marked a year since Meghan's first official royal engagement at the kitchen when she brought the camera with her.

Harry and Meghan, who share son Archie together, shared the message despite being on a six-week break from royal duties.

Wanting to shine a spotlight on the women's work, the Sussexroyal Instagram account posted a picture of Meghan during a visit to the centre in November 2018.

The caption read: 'It was just one year ago that The Duchess of Sussex made a special visit to the women of The Hubb Community Kitchen to help prepare meals for those in need.
