‘The Mandalorian’ Sneak Peek: Jon Favreau’s Live-Action Star Wars Show Is Imminent On Disney+

Tomorrow is the launch of Disney’s brand new streaming service, Disney+. One of the main attractions is the latest original shows that will be on offer, and “The Mandalorian” is a pretty good first offering — created by Jon Favreau, who in the past has been in front and behind the camera, starring as Happy Hogan in the Marvel cinematic universe as well as directing the “live-action” adaptation of The Lion King. This the first-ever live-action series that has been created in the “Star Wars” universe, with “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Rebels,” both being animated series.

The story is set after the fall of the Empire, but just before the rise of the First Order. As the series takes us away from the Skywalkers and focuses on a lone bounty hunter from the planet Mandalore (the same planet both Boba & Jango Fett are from).

This new series has been exciting “Star Wars” when it was first announced, a TV show that puts its focus outside of Jedi’s and Sith’s is something different to what has been shown on the big screen, and even in the animated TV shows.
