(CNSNews.com) - Walgreens is the latest retailer to ban customers from openly carrying weapons in its stores.
“We are joining other retailers in asking our customers to no longer openly carry firearms into our stores other than authorized law enforcement officials,” the company announced in a statement on its website on Thursday.

As CNSNews.com previously reported, Walmart announced Tuesday that it was banning open carry in its stores following recent mass shootings in Texas – one of which took place at a Walmart in El Paso.
The retail giant also said it would no longer sell “short-barrel rifle ammunition,” which it said can be used in military-style weapons.
