Tennessee Catholic school bans all Harry Potter books because of 'actual curses and spells'

Magic won't be enough to get Harry Potter books back on the library shelves at a Catholic school in Tennessee, which had them banned because they might summon 'evil spirits.'

The Rev. Daniel Reehil of St. Edward Catholic School in Nashville consulted with exorcists in the US and Rome and decided against having the books included in the collection of a newly opened library.

'These books present magic as both good and evil, which is not true, but in fact a clever deception,' the pastor wrote in a recent email to a parent, reports the Tennessean.

'The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text,' the priest explained.

Curses - Avada - Kedavra - Imperius - Cruciatus

It's not clear if he meant the 'Unforgiveable Curses: Avada Kedavra, Imperius, and Cruciatus,' or some other so-called evil verbiage from the popular book series by J.K. Rowling....
