Royal devotees have gathered outside Kensington Palace to mark the 22nd anniversary of the death of Princess Diana.

On August 31 1997 the People's Princess was driven at high speed in a Mercedes S-280 into a tunnel under the Alma bridge, Paris, where they crashed into a pillar.

Her death sent shock waves around the world as hundreds of thousands came out to mourn and covered parks across the nation with flowers.

But as mourners gathered to remember the Princess, it emerged that her brother, Earl Charles Spencer, has been shamelessly flogging signed copies of the emotional eulogy he gave at her funeral for £30.

Pictures show members of the public sitting outside the Palace in Hyde Park, London, her former home that is now used by her eldest son Prince William and his wife Kate, with pictures of Diana.

The mourners have stuck images of the Princess during her life onto the metal railings alongside flowers, flags bearing pictures of her children and specially-printed banners.

One devotee appears to have left a watercolour of Princess Diana at the Palace Gates, which they made themselves.

And several others were seen dressed in union jacks sitting on chairs by the gates and using umbrellas to shade...
