It may look like the Far East, but a stunning mansion modeled after Beijing's Summer Palace that has just gone on the market for $8 million, is actually in at the far eastern end of Long Island, New York.

The beautiful property, located in The Hamptons, features gardens and a Buddhist temple modeled after those found at the Summer Palace in Beijing.

The 4.59 acre property, which has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and five half bathrooms, is currently owned by Jeremy Reifer, but the family are now looking to downsize.

Reifer looks after the U.S.-Japan Portfolio for the Man Group, the world's largest publicly traded hedge fund company according to MansionGlobal.

The 8,378-square-foot house was originally purchased by Reifer's father, Stanley, who transformed it into a relaxing vacation home.

'He had been to China many times on vacation and developed a strong interest in Chinese art, specifically porcelain,' Reifer told MansionGlobal.
