Salvage contractor cracks open an abandoned drinks machine and finds $300 in cash inside

A father and son hit the jackpot as they drilled open an abandoned vending machine to discover hundreds of dollars.

Demolition contractor Rick Langos, 50, and his son Darick, 20, from Island Lake, Illinois, salvaged the soda vending machine after visiting an auto shop project where it was left behind.

The pair took the machine back to Rick's workshop in Island Lake and cracked open the machine to find more than just cans of coke.

The clip shows Rick using a grinder to unlock the Pepsi vending machine and Darick can be overheard saying 'show me the money' as he opens the door.

As Rick opens the cash dispenser a thick pile of notes is wedged inside as Darick exclaims: 'That's way more than we have ever found, dude!'

On top of the huge sum of notes the pair find a stash of silver quarters, nickels and dimes to add to their treasure.
