Missing Oregon boy confirmed dead days after parents died in murder-suicide while fleeing from cops

A missing toddler from Oregon whose parents died in an apparent murder-suicide has been confirmed dead.

Police say a body was found on July 28, and an autopsy verified it was that of two-year-old Aiden Salcido, of Medford, Oregon.

Parents - Hannah - Janiak - Daniel - Salcido

His parents, Hannah Janiak and Daniel Salcido, died in an apparent murder-suicide after fleeing a traffic stop near Kalispell, Montana on July 24.

It appears that Janiak was shot in the head by Salcido, who then turned the gun on himself.

Couple - Bodies - Car - Aiden - Body

But, while the couple's bodies were found in their car, Aiden's body was found nearby in the woods, with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police initially stopped the couple's vehicle because they had felony burglary warrants for their arrest.

Child - GMC - Jimmy - Oregon - License

Their child was not in the 1996 GMC Jimmy with Oregon license plates, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) said, prompting a search.

Witnesses called in tips after seeing the story on the news and reported seeing a vehicle matching the description of the one belonging to Janiak and Salcido near a remote campsite in Lincoln County.

Searchers - Boy - Body - West - Fisher

Searchers found the boy's body in the West Fisher Creek area.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office investigated the couple in a burglary in 2018, according to the FBI.

Charges - Janiak - Sentence - Jackson - County

Both were convicted of the charges. Janiak was to start serving her sentence at the Jackson County Jail on June 11.

She did not show up for her sentencing and felony warrants were subsequently issued for the couple's arrest.
