It’s expected that this year’s San Diego Comic-Con is going to be dominated by Marvel Studios. In what seems like a perfect storm of luck and planning, Kevin Feige and company basically have the entire event to themselves, as several other major studios, including Warner Bros., are sitting it out. And with that, there’s also the rumors that Marvel Studios is set to announce at least part of the film slate that will kick off in 2020. But it’s unlikely that any of the announcements have to do with the future of “Deadpool.”
Considering Disney recently finalized the purchase of Fox and its entire library, including the big screen licenses for ‘X-Men’ characters like Deadpool, it was assumed that we’d hear pretty quickly about when the Ryan Reynolds character would show up again. However, it’s been all quiet on the Marvel front, with no one talking about Deadpool’s future. ****, apparently the director of the last film, David Leitch, doesn’t even know what’s going on.
