A renowned Australian matchmaker has revealed six tell-tale signs your partner resents you - and says many are unaware of them.

According to psychologist and relationship mentor Yvonne Allen, those who are jealous or are angry at their other half often do not verbalise their feelings.

'Many people in relationships are unaware their partner is feeling resentful towards them,' Yvonne said.

'However, if not addressed it usually manifests in signs which are likely to result in unpleasant behaviour, frustration and even fights.'

Speaking to FEMAIL, the founder of Yvonne Allen and Associates warned the nation's spouses about the clues they should be looking out for.

Yvonne said a key sign your partner could be bearing ill will towards you is if they suddenly start picking fights when you were previously happy together.

'If - Reason - Things - Change - Partner

'If for some unknown reason things change and your partner starts to become argumentative, this can be a sign,' she said.

'If they start arguing over small things that seem irrelevant or miniscule, there is a clearly a reason for the underlying anger.'

Relationship - Expert - Drop-off - Level - Affection

The relationship expert said a drop-off in the level of affection you receive from your partner can be a tell-tale sign they feel can't stand you.

'Perhaps they used to leave post it notes around, gave you little hugs, called you to tell you they love you, left little gifts around the home for you – and now this has stopped,' Yvonne said.
