The schoolgirl who died in a 'hit-and-run' after a driver who had been 'racing on the wrong side of the road' smashed into her has been named locally.
Robyn Fryar, 15, had been crossing the street in Paisley near Glasgow when she was mowed down by a speeding VW Golf, reports the Sun.

Police today said they believed the car had been racing another vehicle and that Robyn had been with four friends when she stepped out on to the the road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers have now arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the fatal crash.

Detective Inspector Allan Kelly, from Greater Glasgow Police said the driver was going 'at speed on the wrong side of the road in tandem with another car.
'The driver initially got out of the car but then went back in and drove off towards Gleniffer Rd, Paisley.

'We also know that the black car was on the wrong side of the road and driving beside another car, as if racing each other, on Glenburn Road, so people may have seen these two cars either in that street or in surrounding streets either before or after.
