Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about self-doubt in a powerful speech while accepting the Trailblazer Award at the 2019 MTV Movie and TV Awards.
The 47-year-old actress took to the stage with her 20-year-old son Jaden - who served as her hype man of sorts, trying to pump up the crowd before her speech - along with presenter and Smith's Girls Trip co-star Tiffany Haddish.

Pinkett-Smith began her speech by questioning whether or not she really deserved this award in the first place.
'You - Trip - MTV - Award - Quite
'You know, it’s a trip because when MTV called me to receive an award for trailblazing, I was like, "All right now, I don’t know if I deserve this quite yet." But I’m really glad MTV thinks so,' she said.
She then went on to evaluate why she immediately started to doubt herself being worthy of such an honor.
