Paul Mangold reveals everyday times use to wipe down grout, mattresses and kitchen benches

Cleaning isn't an enjoyable task for many people but there are a few simple tricks you can use to make it a lot easier.

Speaking to Domain, Australian quality control officer Paul Mangold from Fantastic Cleaners revealed the surprising everyday items you never knew you could use for cleaning - and most of them are likely be in your house.

Here, he shared his best tips to wipe down grout, mattresses and kitchen benches.

Coffee filters

According to Mr Mangold, one useful trick that might be a surprise to many people involves coffee filters.

While most modern coffee machines don't have filters, if you can get your hands on some, he said they are perfect for cleaning TVs, phones and monitors.

Paper - Towels - Lint - Surface

He insisted they are even better than paper towels because they are absorbent and won't leave any lint behind on the surface.

Olive oil

Furniture - Oil - Trick

If you're looking to polish your wooden furniture, olive oil will do the trick.

'Olive oil can be used to polish wooden furniture and even mask shallow scratches. It's a good alternative to the regular furniture polishes because it doesn't contain any chemicals,' he said.

Polishing - Disinfecting - Drops - Oil - Tablespoons

For regular polishing and disinfecting, you will want to mix a few drops of olive oil into five tablespoons of lemon juice in a glass container.

Then dip in a soft polishing cloth before applying it on the surface and leaving to dry.
