The studio released the dark and gritty trailer for the film on Twitter Thursday which stars Melissa McCarthy, 48, Tiffany Haddish, 39, and Elisabeth Moss, 36.

Known for leaving the audience in stitches, McCarthy and Haddish, play characters who are more likely to leave you needing stitches in the drama.

'The - Rules - Warner - Bros - ****

'The rules are about to change,' Warner Bros tweeted. 'In 1979 ****'s Kitchen, three housewives take over the mob after their husbands go to prison.'

'You do what you gotta do,' a voice over begins in the clip.

Months - Husband - Prison - Sentences - Women

With 24 months left on their husband's prison sentences, the women can't seem to make ends meet at home and are left taking not-so-generous handouts from the Irish Mafia.

'They've been telling us forever that we're never gonna do anything but have babies,' McCarthy's character says in an affected New York accent.

Trio - Band - Things - Hands - Control

The trio band together and decide to take things into their own hands, gaining control of the criminal underbelly in **** Kitchen.

Bedecked in big hair and bell bottoms, the actresses transformed into retro housewives.

Look - McCarthy - Kids - Dinner

'You look pretty momma,' one of McCarthy's on-screen kids says to her during dinner.

'Pretty doesn't matter, it's a just a tool women use,' she quips back.


'For what?' the child asks.

Dramatically, she answers: 'Anything we want.'
