A Jeremy Corbyn aide who is facing a libel case from Countdown's Rachel Riley has been appointed Labour's new head of complaints.
Laura Murray will be responsible for dealing with anti-Semitism allegations in the party in her new £51,000-a-year post.

According to a job advert Ms Murray 'will be responsible for a modern, efficient and effective complaints procedure and managing staff working on this.'
A Labour source insisted the recruitment process had been 'open, fair and designed to find the best person for the job, and that's what happened in this case'.

Ms Murray is at the centre of a libel case brought by Countdown presenter Ms Riley earlier this year.
The row followed an incident where Mr Corbyn was egged by a Brexit supporter in North London.

Ms Murray is said to have accused the TV host, 33, who is Jewish, of saying the Labour leader deserved to be attacked because he was a 'Nazi'.
Ms Riley called the comments, which were later deleted from Twitter, an 'appalling distortion of the truth'.
Row - Ms - Murray - Member - Anti-Semitism
In a separate row, Ms Murray was accused of intervening to stop a Labour member being suspended over anti-Semitism claims after leaked emails emerged last year.
It was claimed she had defended Patricia Sheerin, 72, over the party member's comments on an anti-Semitic mural.
