Netflix tests 'random play' button that chooses which show you should watch next

Netflix is making it easier for users to unwind with their favorite show after a long day of work.

The streaming giant is testing a new feature, called 'Random Play,' for users of its Android app that selects an episode of a TV series for them.

It should prove to be particularly useful for users who've watched every episode of The Office or Friends many times over and are used to turning the series on when they don't know what else to watch.

It's unclear whether the feature, which was first spotted by Android Police, will launch for its broader userbase.

'We are testing the ability to for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app,' a Netflix spokesperson told CNET.

'These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.'
