A 15-year-old schoolgirl was arrested on suspicion of murder after 'giving birth alone and putting her baby girl in a wheelie bin.'
A neighbour raised the alarm and five police cars turned up at the semi-detatched house in a quiet cul-de-sac near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.

Friends said the girl's father was dying of cancer at the time and relatives had been called to the hospital.
But the girl 'stayed at home because she wasn't feeling well and didn't realise she was going into labour.'

An older friend of the girl said: 'She was on her own at home when the baby started to come - her mum and brother weren't there.
'She can't have been thinking clearly with what was going on with her dad. She must have panicked and put it in a plastic carrier bag. The police found the baby in the wheelie bin in the garden.'

Neighbours said the girl's father has since died.
Her friend added: 'It's like two awful tragedies rolled into one, everyone feels very sorry for her losing her dad and her baby.'

Police arrested the girl at the family home, on Sunday, March 24, and she was held for questioning before being released on bail.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has not been seen at the address since and is believed to be staying with relatives.
Arrangements - Father
They are making funeral arrangements for the her father.
An inquest is due to be opened by the Herefordshire Coroner on Wednesday but the hearing is expected to be adjourned while police inquiries continue.
