Texas Tech University's medical school has agreed to stop considering race as a factor during admissions, in an agreement with President Donald Trump's administration.
The agreement, revealed on Tuesday, was signed in February in order to resolve a probe into Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center admissions policies by the Education Department's Civil Rights Office.
Probe - Ones - Harvard - Yale - Applicants
The probe, like similar ones currently underway at Harvard and Yale, is investigating whether Asian applicants are being discriminated against under race-based admissions preferences.
The voluntary settlement at Texas Tech is the first of its kind to emerge from the probes, and may signal likely outcomes for other schools under similar scrutiny.
