Blumhouse Hires Zoe Lister-Jones To Helm Remake Of ’90s Cult Classic ‘The Craft’

Remember that whole “Jason Blum doesn’t hire women to direct horror films” controversy? Well, it appears that maybe he learned from his stupid remarks and has taken a step in the right direction. According to Deadline, Blum and his Blumhouse Productions banner have hired a female director to helm a remake of the cult-classic ‘90s film, “The Craft.”

The report says that “Band Aid” helmer, Zoe Lister-Jones, has been brought on to write and direct the upcoming remake of the film about teenage witches. For those not familiar with the 1996 movie, starring Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Christine Taylor and Skeet Ulrich (How ‘90s is that?!), the film is a classic tale of a new girl at a high school that is just trying to fit in.
