Lucasfilm Games Has Been Resurrected Six Years After It Was Left For Dead

Lucasfilm Games, the video game company that later became known as LucasArts and developed numerous classic adventure games and published major titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, has come back from the dead.

A new report points us to several job listings on Disney’s website (which is Lucasfilm’s parent company) searching for producers, coordinators, and more under the Lucasfilm Games banner. What could they have up their sleeve?

George Lucas founded Lucasfilm Games in the early 1980s, and the company produced games like Labyrinth, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure, Loom, The Secret of Monkey Island, and Star Wars games like X-Wing, Rebel Assault, and Dark Forces. The company was renamed LucasArts in 1990. Years later, even before it was purchased by Disney, LucasArts was reportedly experiencing some troubles, but once Disney acquired it, it wasn’t long before they essentially scrapped the operation. In 2013, LucasArts was left a shell of its former self, all of its projects were cancelled, and most of the company was laid off.

But now they’re back in business. PC Gamer noticed several Lucasfilm Games job openings on Disney’s official website, and they explain what kinds of positions are being sought:
