She's set to take on the role of Frances Bell, the lover of paleontologist Mary Anning, played by Kate Winslet, for new period drama Ammonite.

And Saoirse Ronan was spotted on the Dorset set of the upcoming **** romance, getting into character in the picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis on Tuesday.

Actress - Character - Gown - Era - Lace

The actress, 24, transformed into her character by wearing a heavy black gown, typical of the Victorian era, and had white lace detailing around the collar.

Completing her period costume by wearing a large bonnet that had bow detailing, the Hanna star styled her blonde locks into tiny ringlets.

Complexion - Saoirse - Streets - Shoes - Pair

Sporting a make-up free complexion, Saoirse appeared to also be walking through the cobbled streets without any shoes as she carried a pair of boots in her hands.

During her time on set, the Grand Budapest Hotel actress braved the wet weather as she filmed takes while leaving Anning's Fossil and Curios shop.
