Twitter is letting users test out new features before they hit the main app.
The social media firm on Monday announced its first round of test users can now access its experimental 'Twttr' app.
Features - Feedback
There, it will roll out new features to receive and review user feedback, then decide whether they're good enough to bring to the broader public.
The first tests will be focused on conversations and include new tools like chat bubbles and color-coded replies.
Prototype - App - Twttr - Group - Participants
'Our prototype app, twttr, launches to the first group of participants today,' the firm said in a tweet.
'#LetsHaveAConvo about new features to build a better Twitter together.'
Name - 'twttr - Throwback - Name - Company
The name 'twttr' is a throwback to the original name of the company - a moment that's also immortalized in CEO Jack Dorsey's first tweet, which read: 'just setting up my twttr.'
Twitter first revealed that it was launching the prototype app at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Anyone - Test - User - Firm - Thousand
Anyone is able to apply to become a test user but the firm only selects about a thousand users.
