If you're one of the many cat-lovers who hit up a movie theater this weekend to watch Captain Marvel, then congratulations — you helped Carol Danvers (aka Brie Larson) land the biggest-ever opening for a female-fronted film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The newest superhero film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe officially came out on Friday, March 8 (though late showings began the evening before, on March 7), and has since earned an estimated $153 million for its debut weekend in North America, in addition to an estimated $455 million globally.
