To say that this has been a rough week in TV news would be an understatement, given the loss of Luke Perry and the news that America's wise uncle Alex Trebek has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. But believe it or not, there have been some not-so-miserable TV developments this week, too. Here, we'll take a look at some of the best, most exciting, and downright weirdest small-screen moments of the week.
Grossest power move: The Walking Dead is known for its gore, but this season has been especially gnarly with the arrival of the Whisperers. This week, Alpha (Samantha Morton) taught her pack to never question her leadership again after two people tried to challenge her, and the results of the fight were absolutely revolting.
Decision - Girls - Season - Week - Episode
Best bad decision: Good Girls returned for its second season this week, and the premiere episode was full of WTF moments. First, Beth (Christina Hendricks) refuses to end Rio and lets the crime boss shoot her husband instead. Then, Annie (Mae Whitman) and Greg get busy for old times' sake — just before his wife announces that she's pregnant. Mega WHOOPS on all accounts, but we gotta hand it to Ruby (Retta)'s hubby Stan for outdoing 'em all. The good policeman lifts the Sharpie cap with Beth's lipstick from evidence after the girls are unwilling to unplug the evidence freezer because it contains rape kits. He wasn't in this mess before, but he sure is now, and we kinda love him even more for it.
Crappiest husband: This week's episode of This Is Us left us asking one question: Randall, WYD? After all Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) has put up with from Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and his many one-sided decisions, we're supposed to watch him shut down her new passion play just like *snaps*...
