Captain Marvel is already soaring at the box office.

Captain Marvel is already flying up the box office charts after its Thursday preview showing.

Brie - Larson - Superhero - Film - Disney

The Brie Larson superhero film earned an estimated $20.7 million domestically, Disney announced Friday, which is the MCU's fifth biggest preview behind Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther and Captain America: Civil War.

Internationally the film has earned $44 million since its Wednesday opening. That number does not include China, where it's tracking for a $34 million opening.

The official announcement comes after Deadline predicted that the film would score $20 million to $24 million just from Thursday preview showings.

The site warns that these are rough estimates, not official numbers from Disney, and may increase or decrease when the true figures come in. Still, the site was confident enough to predict "one of the best box office-grossing days that 2019 has seen to date after How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World's first Saturday (Feb. 23) of $22.2 million."
