Gigi Hadid pays her respects to Karl Lagerfeld at the Fendi fashion house in Milan

She said she felt 'overwhelmed with sadness' at the death of 'King Karl' on Tuesday.

And Gigi Hadid looked forlorn as she arrived at the Fendi fashion house in Milan to leave flowers for the late designer Karl Lagerfeld.

The supermodel, who was regularly invited to walk in his catwalk shows, wore all black as she paid her respects one day after the sad news of his passing in Paris.

Gigi was in town for Milan Fashion Week when she attended a fitting at Fendi, the fashion house where Karl was head designer.

She carried a huge bouquet upon leaving a florist in the city centre after dark.

The model covered her eyes in tinted sunglasses and covered her denim outfit with a long, dark trench coat and black heels.

She was later accompanied by her model sister Bella who was seen grabbing some food-to-go.

Gigi initially paid tribute to Karl on Instagram on Tuesday, when it was announced that the fashion icon had died, aged 85, following a short illness.
