An Iowa mom has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after her baby son's lifeless body was found in a maggot-infested swing.

Cheyanne Harris, 22, showed no emotion as she was sentenced on Tuesday in New Hampton to the state-mandated penalty, and her request for a new trial was denied.

Plymouth - County - Jurors - Hours - Harris

It took Plymouth County jurors around four hours to find Harris guilty of first-degree murder and child endangerment causing death on February 6.

No family members were present to see Harris, wearing jail stripes and an orange jacket, sentenced on Tuesday.

Sterling - Koehn - Mouth - Swing - Sweltering

Sterling Koehn was lifeless and bleeding from the mouth when he was found rotting in his swing in a sweltering bedroom on August 30 2017, in an apartment in Alta Vista, Chickasaw County.

An autopsy shows he died of malnutrition, dehydration and an E. coli infection.

Baby - Father - Zachary - Koehn - Life

The baby's father, Zachary Koehn, also has been sentenced to life in prison.

Drug - User - Harris - Medics - Baby

Drug user Harris - who pleaded not guilty - was arrested after medics found the baby. She had caused a break in her trial last month when she cried after seeing pictures of her lifeless newborn.

The images appeared to show him bleeding from the mouth wearing camouflage pants and a shirt with a cartoon cow above the words 'let's play'.
