A teenager is in a critical condition today after being stabbed in the chest outside a college in Birmingham.

The 16-year-old was attacked near Joseph Chamberlain College, in Highgate, at around 4pm.

Police - Teens - Incident

Police say two other teens were injured in the incident and a 16-year-old has been arrested.

The sixth form college has announced it is to remain closed on Thursday after the 'incident'.

College - Statement - Twitter - Incident - Evening

The College issued a statement on Twitter to confirm there had been an incident and the evening for parents and teachers tonight had been cancelled. The tweet has since been deleted.

It stated: 'We can confirm an incident has occurred at college. But at this moment we are unable comment or give further details. We have made the decision to close the college tomorrow. And will not be opening until after the half term break.

'This - Parent - Carer - Progress - Meeting

'This means that parent and carer progress meeting has been cancelled tonight.'

West Midlands Police have released a statement.

It said: 'A 16-year-old has been arrested...
