McConnell: Senate Will Vote on Democrats' 'Green New Deal' Resolution

( - At a Tuesday news conference, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced that he will bring the Democrats' "Green New Deal" to a vote in the Senate.

"Let me say, first of all, however, I've noted with great interest the Green New Deal. And we're going to be voting on that in the Senate. We'll give everybody an opportunity to go on record and see how they feel about the Green New Deal."

McConnell - Rep - John - Barrasso - R-Wyo

That was all McConnell said about it, but Rep. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), appearing with McConnell and other Republicans, warned that the plan "drives a stake into the heart of our economy."

"But there's another deal that's out there, the so-called Green New Deal, which is a raw deal for the American public, for hard-working American families," Barrasso said:

And to me it drives a stake into the heart of our economy, which is a strong and healthy and growing economy with optimism that is today at a high, high level across America.
